Everyone’s favourite side project The Almost are set to release a new EP, titled No Gift To Bring on the 25th November.

The tracklisting posted at Zambooie shows three new songs, plus two remakes that sound promising: an extended version of Amazing Because It Is and an electro remake of Dirty And Left Out by everyone’s favourite flobber Timmy McTague.

New Anberlin Record Out Monday

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Florida quintet Anberlin will be releasing their fourth record, New Surrender, on Monday.

As we’ve already reported, the record will contain a remake of the old overlooked song The Feel Good Drag.

You can expect a full review on Tuesday.

New Trenches Album

Monday, September 15th, 2008

The new Trenches album is out tomorrow (September 16th) titled The Tide Will Swallow Us Whole on Solid State Records.

Trenches is fronted by former Haste the Day frontman Jimmy Ryan. Fans of early HTD will be excited to hear Jimmy’s distinctive growls but if they’re expecting the same style of music they should think again.

To get a taster of what to expect from this band, they have a couple songs from the new album up on their myspace.

Haste the Day New Album

Monday, September 15th, 2008

In case you didn’t know, Haste the Day have a new album coming out called Dreamer on October 14th. Going by the two songs from the upcoming album on their myspace, it’s going to be just as crushing as their 2007 release Pressure the Hinges, if not more.

The artwork is looking nice, I’m guessing it’s Invisible Creature but we’ll see. They’re also promising a “HUGE” booklet so I’ll look forward to that too as I’m a collector of sweet album art.

They’re going to be touring in Australia later in the year supporting Scary Kids Scaring Kids and there’s a Germany tour date up just after. Here’s hoping they’ll pop across to the UK, preferably Scotland so we can catch these guys live!

The Devil Wears Prada Re-release

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

The Devil Wears Prada will be re-releasing their album Plagues on October 28th through Rise Records.

I guess this is due to their rising popularity and Rise Records wanting in on the money.

So, if you like TDWP and haven’t got Plagues then maybe best waiting to get this re-release as you’ll be getting a CD/DVD combo with the Spring 2008 Tour & Warped Tour Video Footage & The Hey John and HTML Official Music Videos on the DVD.

They’re Only Defining The Great Sound

Monday, September 1st, 2008

In preparation to review Underoath’s new record, Lost In The Sound Of Separation, I listened to every Underoath record from start to finish, including the brutal Dallas Taylor-fest Act Of Depression, just to get some perspective.

Underoath are famous for changing their sound between every release, so how does the new record sound? Thankfully, they haven’t departed too much from 2006’s phenomenal Define The Great Line. There’s definitely more heaviness, more low growls from Spencer Chamberlain, but overall the sounds is a natural progression. Not quite a different sound, not quite Define The Great Line 2.0.

Right now, and presumably for a limited time only, you can listen to the entirity of Underøath’s new album online at their MySpace.

Lost In The Sound Of Seperation is being released tomorrow. At least one of StereoFire’s editors (me!) will be downloading it at midnight. Or as soon as it’s available on iTunes.

Underoath tour the UK next week in support of the new record, and will be hitting Glasgow’s Garage on Sunday (7th September), along with Oh Sleeper and Envy On The Coast. We’ll be there!

Blessed By A Broken Heart New Album

Monday, September 1st, 2008

Blessed by a Broken Heart will be releasing their new album titled Pedal To the Metal this Tuesday (2/9/08).

With soaring metal riffs complimented by super-fast double pedal work coupled with 80s-esque drum machines and vocals, these guys are sure to cause a stir in the scene in the near future.

Be sure to check them out on tour later this year and we’ll see you at The Cathouse in Glasgow on 9th December for, from what I’ve heard, will be an awesome show.

Check out a new song from the band, Carry On, on their myspace and expect an album review soon.
