BLANK STARE! BLANK STARE!

Sunday, November 9th, 2008

Everyone’s favourite side project The Almost are set to release a new EP, titled No Gift To Bring on the 25th November.

The tracklisting posted at Zambooie shows three new songs, plus two remakes that sound promising: an extended version of Amazing Because It Is and an electro remake of Dirty And Left Out by everyone’s favourite flobber Timmy McTague.

Here’s the new music video for “Robots 3 Humans 0″ by Norma Jean from their album “The Anti Mother”. Lovely :)

45 Days Demon Hunter Video

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

45 Days

Demon Hunter will be releasing their eagerly awaited CD/DVD titled 45 Days on the 25th November. I’ve never been a big fan of the band but i’m going to be bagging this release for the DVD, it looks super-slick and really well produced and directed.

There are lots of black and white, arty-looking shots in the trailer for the film which follows the band on tour and focuses a lot on the fans as well as giving you a glimpse into the lives of the members of this powerhouse in Christian metal.

New Copeland Song Up

Monday, September 15th, 2008

Actually head on over to Copeland’s myspace right now and check out a new song from the upcoming Tooth and Nail debut, You Are My Sunshine.

The song is called The Grey Man. I wondered what their sound would be like, if it would change much or deviate from their signature sound. Thankfully the are at their best by the sound of things!

I personally can’t wait for the new album and if The Grey Man is anything to go by we’re in for a treat.

New Trenches Album

Monday, September 15th, 2008

The new Trenches album is out tomorrow (September 16th) titled The Tide Will Swallow Us Whole on Solid State Records.

Trenches is fronted by former Haste the Day frontman Jimmy Ryan. Fans of early HTD will be excited to hear Jimmy’s distinctive growls but if they’re expecting the same style of music they should think again.

To get a taster of what to expect from this band, they have a couple songs from the new album up on their myspace.

Haste the Day New Album

Monday, September 15th, 2008

In case you didn’t know, Haste the Day have a new album coming out called Dreamer on October 14th. Going by the two songs from the upcoming album on their myspace, it’s going to be just as crushing as their 2007 release Pressure the Hinges, if not more.

The artwork is looking nice, I’m guessing it’s Invisible Creature but we’ll see. They’re also promising a “HUGE” booklet so I’ll look forward to that too as I’m a collector of sweet album art.

They’re going to be touring in Australia later in the year supporting Scary Kids Scaring Kids and there’s a Germany tour date up just after. Here’s hoping they’ll pop across to the UK, preferably Scotland so we can catch these guys live!

New Record On It’s Way From MATSOD

Friday, September 5th, 2008

As I write this, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster are busily writing material for their next album. They hit the studio at the beginning of December and we should expect a release before Summer next year.

It’s going to be interesting to hear what a big line-up (only Dallas and Roman are original members) change has produced sound-wise. I really can’t see it sounding anything like the previous two albums but we’ll see, I could be wrong.

New Lakes Song

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

I don’t know if this is old news or not but Lakes have a new song up on their myspace page titled The Heart Is An Anchor.

Frontman Seth Roberts used to front the excellent Watashi Wa and if you were ever a fan of them then you will recognise Seth’s distinctive vocals straight away.

Lakes is for fans of the indie/folk genre with very laid-back, melodic songs. They have an EP out titled Photographs EP which is definitely worth a listen. Also check out their new website for more information on this great band, who really should be more mainstream than they are.

The Devil Wears Prada Re-release

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

The Devil Wears Prada will be re-releasing their album Plagues on October 28th through Rise Records.

I guess this is due to their rising popularity and Rise Records wanting in on the money.

So, if you like TDWP and haven’t got Plagues then maybe best waiting to get this re-release as you’ll be getting a CD/DVD combo with the Spring 2008 Tour & Warped Tour Video Footage & The Hey John and HTML Official Music Videos on the DVD.
