Blessed By A Broken Heart New Album

Posted by Michael on September 1st, 2008

Blessed by a Broken Heart will be releasing their new album titled Pedal To the Metal this Tuesday (2/9/08).

With soaring metal riffs complimented by super-fast double pedal work coupled with 80s-esque drum machines and vocals, these guys are sure to cause a stir in the scene in the near future.

Be sure to check them out on tour later this year and we’ll see you at The Cathouse in Glasgow on 9th December for, from what I’ve heard, will be an awesome show.

Check out a new song from the band, Carry On, on their myspace and expect an album review soon.

New Anberlin Record Out 30th September

Posted by Alex on August 31st, 2008

Poppy, yet deliciously addictive Anberlin will be releasing their fourth record New Surrender on the 30th September.

You can listen to two songs on the band’s MySpace - the totally new song Disappear, and a revamped version of The Feel-Good Drag, an older song from second record Never Take Friendship Personal.

In addition, Anberlin will be hitting the UK this November. They tour Wales and the South of England initially, before coming up to Glasgow’s King Tut’s on the 26th November. The first half of the tour will be accompanied by Elliot Minor, who will thankfully not be playing with Anberlin in Glasgow.

Just One Week Until New Underoath Record

Posted by Alex on August 26th, 2008

Underoath’s new record, Lost In The Sound Of Seperation, is released on 2nd September - just a week away.

The record is being followed with a UK tour which will be hitting Glasgow’s Garage on Sunday 7th September. As such, Underoath have confirmed that the UK will be the first place in the world to hear the new material live.

You can listen to two songs from the record, which sounds more like a natural progression from 2006’s Define The Great Line than a radical new sound, on Underoath’s MySpace page.

New Copeland album

Posted by Michael on August 25th, 2008

Melancholy indie rockers Copeland will release their first album under new label Tooth and Nail Records titled You Are My Sunshine on October 14th.

I’m loving the new album artwork. This band always seems to hit the mood of the record just right with their design work, I’m not sure who did the artwork for this latest album but if I find out I’ll update just in case anyone is interested. Invisible Creature created the artwork.

This will be the band’s fourth full-length release since Beneath Medicine Tree in 2003 under old label The Militia Group. You can check out some viral marketing for the new album at these sites:

…and good luck in the “maze”.

The Sound, The Steel by The Wedding

Posted by Alex on August 22nd, 2008

The Wedding have released a new record, with an interesting change of sound. Stepping away from their teenage poppish sound to a more mature sound reminiscent of The Almost. Consisting of five songs and an extra acoustic version of opening track Receive.

Receive comes at you full force, with its bouncy chorus of ‘It’s like a fire coming down. We’ve got it. We’ve got it now’. It’s an instantly catchy track and you’ll be singing it for weeks. The only cheesy aspect of this song is singer Matt Shelton’s Bert McCracken style ‘C-c-clap your hands’. Otherwise, this is the instantly catchy, standout track of the record.

Emery to release new E.P. later this year

Posted by Michael on August 20th, 2008

For all you Emery fans out there the news is out that the band will be releasing an 8-song EP titled While Broken Hearts Prevail. Quoting from IndieVisionMusic:

Returning to the spirit of their debut release The Weak’s End, While Broken Hearts Prevail has the raw intensity and energy that no amount of production or studio time can imitate. While Broken Hearts Prevail is in some way a return to the roots of the band, balancing their blend of heart wrenching chorus’ with chest pounding bridges and awe inspiring honesty.

Maylene - New Record In Spring

Posted by Alex on August 20th, 2008

Everyone’s favourite Southern band, Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster, have let slip that they’ll be hitting the studio in December to record another record. The record will be released in Spring 2009.

I wonder if it’ll be called III.

The Showdown’s Backbreaker Is Almost Upon Us

Posted by Alex on August 18th, 2008

Less than two years after The Showdown brought temptation our way, they’ve returned to break backs with their new record Backbreaker, released tomorrow.

Fans of ‘the old Showdown’ will be pleased, with the band using much less of the melodic Southern Rock sound of Temptation Come My Way. Backbreaker sounds much more like debut effort A Chorus Of Obliteration. Expect more pounding kick drums, harder guitar riffs and a plethora of guitar solos. When listening to the album, you can positively hear influences from Metallica and Pantera oozing out of the songs.

Those who got into The Showdown with Temptation Come My Way may feel slightly alienated, but they could use this as an opportunity to broaden their musical horizons. Older fans of the band will be pleases with the effort.

Backbreaker is released tomorrow. Go check it out on Purevolume.
